THE DEBT

Its not monetary,
but it is a debt.
Those umpteen sacrifices,
I'll never forget.

Guilty conscience haunts me,
but to no avail.
I endeavour to be successful,
but always fail.

I plead for chances,
God doesn't comply.
I put up queries,
but get no reply.

Repentance for my sins
doesn't solve matters.
The foundation I had laid,
is already in shatters.

I pray for an opportunity
to overcome these torrents.
So that I can repay the debt
I owe my parents.
